Back-friendly group class, 75min

In this class we will focus on the muscles that support the back and spine. It combines pilates, yoga and breath work and is suitable for physically active beginners with little or no yoga/pilates background and intermediate practitioners with some more experience.

The format of this class is designed for students with healthy spines but also for those who experienced or are familiar with back pain and are looking for a back-safe group class environment.

There are many contributing factors to lower back pain, like f.e. muscular imbalances, poor postural habits, a sedentary lifestyle. Each week's sequence will  support your spine and stabilize it, by building strength all around. You will improve your flexibility, which is necessary to maintain normal joint function and a good range of motion.

Did you know that one of the most overlooked contributors to lower back pain is dysfunctional breathing? During the practice will focus on correct breathing and you are welcome to use a faceformer in this class to support correct breathing. At the end in the final 15 min we will be practicing a specific breathing technique, which will lead us into meditation.

Looking forward to see you in class!

Monika
